Managing Your Priorities

We a lot of times set New Year’s Resolutions. Getting more out of your day might be one of them. This is a challenging goal to accomplish, like most goals you need to have a mindset. I find that reading a book on the subject helps to get my mind set in the direction I want to go. If you aren’t a book fan, maybe a you tube video, there is probably one on every subject you can think of.

Do you feel like you don’t have enough time in the day to do what you need or want to do?

“There will always be 24 hours in each day, no more, no less. Busy people make the best recruits and busy people fill the top tier of the industry. Somehow, they find time to do what they want to do. Their secret? Understanding that they cannot control time, but they can control how they use it. It is all about setting priorities. Although your goals may take years to accomplish, your activities should focus on the present. Successful people forgo small indulgences every day to bring their dreams to fruition. Learn to say “No” unless you are willing to sacrifice your dreams to someone else’s agenda.”¹

Plan the night before and create your to-do list. Put the most important task on top with the least important on the bottom of your list. This gets you organized and prepared to focus. Make the list reasonable and be open to moving an item you did not accomplish to the next day. As you check off your items you feel accomplished and because your list is written you can see at the end of the day what you have done. Pat yourself on the back!
